Privacy policy.

The short version: we collect what we need to run the checker for you, we never sell it, we use no advertising trackers, and you can delete everything yourself from Settings in about ten seconds.

1. What we collect, and when

We do not collect your date of birth, Social Security number, or financial account numbers, and we do not want them. If a transcript contains them, they stay out of what we keep.

2. How we use it

To compute and show your results, to save them to your account, to apply the free allowance and your pass, to send the emails the service needs (account confirmation, password reset, and any program-change alerts you turn on), to answer your messages and fix the errors you report, to keep the site safe from abuse, and to understand in aggregate how the site is used. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we use no advertising pixels or third-party analytics trackers.

The people who run ABSNcheck can see account emails, contact messages, and upload counts in an administration view in order to support you and operate the site. Nobody outside the company has that access.

3. Contributions and published statistics

If we invite you to tell us which courses a program accepted or how your application went, and you choose to, we may publish that only as a statistic combined with other people's reports (for example, "12 of 15 reports say this program accepted an online microbiology lab"), and only once enough reports exist that no individual can be identified. Your raw answers are never shown publicly and never shared with schools in a form that identifies you. You can withdraw a contribution at any time through the contact page.

4. Who we share it with

Only the providers we need to run the service, each bound to use your data solely to provide that service to us:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the site and its users. Our systems read school web pages to build the directory; your personal data is never sent to a school.

5. Cookies and browser storage

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in, a small activity cookie that signs you out of that device after 24 hours without activity, and your browser's local storage to hold the checker between visits before you sign in. Cloudflare may set a cookie of its own while Turnstile runs. That is all; no advertising or cross-site cookies. You can clear any of these in your browser; clearing local storage before you sign in removes your unsaved entries.

6. How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Your account data stays until you delete it. You can do that yourself at any time: Settings → Delete account. That removes your courses, exam scores, program choices, results, upload records, and the account itself, and ends any pass without refund. If you prefer, ask us from the address on the account and we will do it within 72 hours.

Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and payment rules require, without your checker data. Contact messages are kept while we work on them and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up. Server logs are kept for 30 days. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify anyone may be kept.

7. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time, through the contact page or by emailing hello@absncheck.com. We answer within 30 days. If you live somewhere with specific privacy laws (for example, the EU, the UK, or California), you have at least those rights, and we honor them regardless of where you live.

8. How we protect it

Data travels over encrypted connections and is stored with a provider that encrypts it at rest. Passwords are hashed, never stored in the clear. Access to the database is limited to the service and to the people who run the site. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you.

9. Children

The site is for adults planning a nursing application. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes and contact

If we change this policy, the date at the top changes, and for material changes we email account holders. Questions go to the contact page or hello@absncheck.com. Our terms of service explain what the site is and is not.
